It’s less than 15 days before Christmas. Have you finished Christmas gift shopping already? In case you haven’t yet, here are gift ideas to give someone who loves to travel. These are my must-haves whenever I travel so I can guarantee you that items from this list won’t end up collecting dust in a box somewhere.

Gift Ideas For Someone Who Loves to Travel
Drinking water bottle

One of the most useful gifts you can give is a drinking water bottle. It is a great gift that is also very good for the environment. Not only is it useful during travels but even in daily activities. I highly recommend Aquaflask for this one. It is a vacuum insulated stainless steel drinking water bottle. It is leakproof, has a double wall and you can put hot or cold water in it. It can keep your hot water hot for 12 hours and the cold water cold for 24 hours.
Travel towel
Hotels and even some hostels provide towels. But it is still handy to bring your own towel, especially if you’re traveling long term. Give someone a compact, lightweight, and quick-drying towel like the Aquazorb Body Towel.
Toiletries Organizer
Toiletries organizers are very useful when traveling as you get to keep all your toiletries in one bag. When choosing a toiletries organizer to give, get one that has a hook so that it can be hung on the wall.
Belt bag/Fanny pack/Waist bag

When I was preparing for my backpacking trip back in 2019, a friend suggested I get a waist bag where I could secure my passport and other valuable items and keep it under my shirt when I am traveling by bus. I used the World Traveler RFID Waist Stash during the trip and on the succeeding trips I had.
Electronic/cable organizer

An electronics/cable organizer is a practical gift that will always be appreciated. I always bring with me the Thule Electronics Carrying Case that my ex gave me as a Christmas present as I get to keep my phone chargers, adapters, flash drives, earphones, and a power bank all in one case.
Sarong or travel blanket
For me, one of the essentials when packing for a trip is a sarong or a travel blanket. They have plenty of uses- you can use them as a beach or bath towel, blanket, scarf or shawl, bedsheet, or you can wear them as a dress, skirt, or a belt.

Whenever I travel, I always bring my Headware Kookon Multifunctional Travel Blanket with me. It is so useful, it keeps me warm during my travel. I use it as a blanket on the bus or during flights. I also use it as a cover-up when I am out hiking and I need to change my shirt and used it once as a shawl when I forgot to bring a jacket.
Selfie stick or mobile phone tripod
One of the challenges when traveling solo is that you don’t have anyone to take your pictures. So if you know anyone who loves to travel solo, this gift will be greatly appreciated.
When I started traveling solo, one of the things I invested in was a MeFoto Portable Selfie Stick with Mini Tripod. It is more expensive than the generic selfie sticks but it is more durable and has a Bluetooth shutter release. Unfortunately, I lost the shutter when I visited Alishan in Taiwan.
Power Bank
Another must-have when traveling is a power bank. I’ve experienced running out of battery when I was out somewhere in Bali and I needed to book a Grab car. Good thing I had my power bank with me. When choosing a power bank to give as a gift, choose one that is slim and lightweight.
Waterproof Bag
A blog reader asked me before how I am able to secure my valuables when I go on island hopping tours. My answer was I put my stuff in Ocean Pack Waterproof Bag and I take it with me when I go swimming. A waterproof bag keeps your gadgets and clothes dry when you go on a beach trip or an island hopping tour.
Klook Gift Card
If you don’t have time to go out shopping for gifts, a Klook gift card is a good alternative. The gift card is valid for any of the products and activities in Klook, and it doesn’t expire.
I hope this list helped you with your Christmas shopping this year. I wish you all a happy holiday season!
