While most people go to Japan to enjoy the view of cherry blossom trees in bloom, I was lucky enough that I need not go far just to experience this. The Palawan cherry blossom in our staff house in Nonoc Island was in bloom when we arrived there for my 32-day field work. I had seen this tree in bloom the year before but was not able to take a picture so when I had the opportunity to do it this year, I decided I am going to take a picture of the tree every day for the rest of my 32 days stay in the island. On the second day of my stay, it was getting dark when we arrived at the staff house because we decided to walk from the office which is about an hour away by foot on a normal pace (I’m not quite sure if it is 5 kilometers away). I took this photo as soon as we arrived.
Photo taken on the second day
On my third day, I almost forgot to take a photo because we went for a walk around the residential area. It was again getting dark when I took this photo.
Photos of the tree were taken at different times, some were taken in the morning, some at noon, most in the afternoon and one was taken at night when I almost forgot to take a picture of the tree for that day.
All photos were taken using the camera of my phone Asus Zenfone Selfie. Photos were edited in my phone using the app Snapseed. It is a very easy to use app with lots of filters.
