Six Spots in La Union to Watch the Sunset

Last Updated on January 19, 2021 by Tina

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen that almost every day my posts in my IG stories are pictures of sunset in La Union. That’s because Urbiztondo Beach in San Juan, La Union is less than 5 minutes walk from our house. Every afternoon, I take my nephew there for a walk and also to watch the sunset.

La Union is a popular surfing destination in the country. And people who have been here know that sunsets in La Union are spectacular. I never get tired of watching them. And the color of the sky after the sun has set is equally beautiful.

If you are planning a trip to Elyu in the future, below are six spots in La Union to watch the sunset.

Agoo Eco Fun World

Located in Sta. Rita West and Sta. Rita Central, Agoo, La Union, Agoo Eco-Fun Park has a wide piece of land covered with agoho trees (Casuarina equisetifolia). It is a man-made forest. A few meters from the man-made forest is the beach which is a good spot to catch the sunset. It has fine grayish sand. There are picnic huts in the beach area.

Spot Near Holcim Cement Plant in Bacnotan

On your way to Luna, there are areas near Holcim Cement Plant in Bacnotan where you have a good view of the sea. You rarely see other tourists in this area so it’s a good spot to watch the sunset especially now that social distancing is encouraged.
